His Blurb: Nigel soon realized that everyone he had loved was dead. His parents, his friends, Melanie...it was all gone. He holed up in his flat, installing several locks and hoarding all the food he could find and buy from the grocer down the street, who (miraculously) was unaffected also. Awhile after the spread of the disease, Nigel began to realize something. He had lost everything he had wanted, but there were still things to live for. After he saved a young girl in the street from being mugged one night, he knew what he had to do. He began practicing the hand-to-hand combat he had learned as an adolescent, and weight training. In his storage he found some costume items his parents had gotten him when he'd loved comic books, and a wetsuit that still fit. A mask would hide his identity...by day the reclusive and depressed Nigel Barlowe, by night the Apparition, who melted into the shadows and struck fear into the hearts of criminals.
